The Galilee holds many opportunities for spiritual renewal as we begin to get our footing in the Holy Land.
It is amazing to travel from the lush climate of Galilee to the stark reality of the desert where Jews fled many conquering armies. Here you will see Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We may visit the ancient fortress of Masada or hike the desert oasis called Ein Gedi.
From desert we will “go up to Jerusalem”. Coming out of the desert, rising over the mountains to see the city of God nestled in the valleys is truly a moving experience. In Jerusalem, we will sit on the steps where Jesus walked when entering the Temple to teach, heal, and challenge the money-changers. Visit the Western Wall, Temple Mount, Mount of Olives, Kidron Valley, Garden of Gethsemane, and Golgotha along with other sites.
